Description
Hunters bear a great responsibility to place the meat of harvested game on the market as a sound food. Field dressing the animal while it hangs head down is the best way to protect the valuable cuts of game meat from contamination. If you want to field dress your animal in the field, this is usually done lying on the ground. Following the rules of game-meat hygiene is not always easy, especially with paunch shots or larger animals.
We regularly received customer enquiries asking whether we at Heck Pack could develop a stable and practical game gambrel.
Now it is here. The Artemis game gambrel from Heck Pack.
Stability of the construction:
The design is built from ST37 Thyssen-Krupp steel and, for corrosion protection, is fully hot-dip galvanized to the highest grade. The wall thicknesses of the relevant components are dimensioned twice as thick as competitor products, so as to meet the high demands of hunting. This also explains the higher weight of the game gambrel. During development the game gambrel was tested by several experienced hunters and proved what it can do. Even animals of over 150 kg could be hung and dressed on the „Artemis“ game gambrel without trouble and without effort. The assembly is inserted into the guide adapter, which is fixed to the hitch carrier, and transfers the load to the ground. The guide adapter is mounted between the hitch carrier and the one-hand lever fastener, and can also be retrofitted to an existing hitch carrier. The winch with the strap guide is mounted on the game gambrel so that no further work is needed to put the game gambrel into operation once it has been put together. The strap guide was designed so that the strap runs as freely as possible, with little effort, and is subject to little friction. The low effort required for cranking is an advantage especially with heavy animals. The low frictional resistance also increases the service life of the strap.
Use:
Using plug-in connections, the Artemis can be set up in the field without tools in under a minute, and taken down just as quickly. Various stops are provided on the boom, giving the hunter adjustment options to decide whether the animal is to be dressed in front of or above the hitch carrier (game tub).
